As a Pool/Travel Pilot, I practically work 9 days straight with 5 days off in between. I live in a hotel while not at my actual work place, my RV or stay at my girlfriend’s house on my off days.
Though I do consider myself blessed in so many ways, love my job, happy, I still can’t help but feel so helpless and feel such uncertainty
You can call yourself an extrovert or an introvert. I feel there is a degree of both in everyone. Needless to say I practically already spend the majority of my time isolated. With the current events and the required social distancing, even as a man, as I crave intimate physical touch and quality FaceTime with my loved ones, I realize there are so many out there who feel the same way.
I get it!
Loneliness can make you feel undesirable, unlovable, misunderstood. It can cause you to further self-isolate when what you really crave is a deep connection. When you’re busy, it’s just a low hum in the background but when the noise and the distractions stop, it can be deafening.
Some say that loneliness is an indication the person is in need of love and connection with themselves. Perhaps there’s some truth to that. There’s also the obvious truth that we aren’t solidarity creatures. We thrive in community and seek out acceptance and love.
But now, all we have is time and solitude. So I’ll say it again as I always have tried to live my life this way. Seize the moments as they come, an opportunity gone is and opportunity lost. Enjoy the moments as they were your last and don’t take any day…any moment…or any one for granted.
