Verona, Italy. Home of the famous Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet” and Roman Arena. Again, welcoming me back with open arms and an entire different kind of beauty. From your 1st century Roman Theatre to your 12th century medieval architecture. It’s Valentines Day weekend and there was no doubt the reason I am here was going to be an experience of a lifetime. That is to run your Romeo & Juliet 1/2 Marathon. But first, I had to give myself a tour of such an exquisite city. Now, your forecasters were pretty much on the money with the weather. You rained on us pretty much the entire 1st day and part of the morning on the next. Wasn’t going to let that stop me from soaking up the sites. No pun intended HAAAH!!! To be honest I really wasn’t too impressed 
with the Romeo & Juliet Balcony. The rest of the city was phenomenal. Beautiful inviting little coffee shops, alleyway little homes to your little boutiques. As much as I wanted to see the rest of you, I have to call it the night. Big day and big race for me. This will be my 1st half marathon and want to be well rested to run your city and finish. Race morning and its pretty dang chilly. But, I am excited and can’t wait for the gun to go off.
The race begins….Not that I have much to compare to but running through such your old city was 
amazing. Old cobble stone roads, medieval architecture, massive statues and spectators even looking over there little balconies cheering everyone on. Verona!! you represent well. To run my first half marathon through such an amazing city in under 2 hours, had me feeling like I can accomplish anything. Now I want to make all my new races, destination races. You set the bar high. After it was all said and done, and I was down from my high, I want to eat. What better way to celebrate than to be able to sit with a 1 litter mug of beer and one my favorite food. PIZZA!! Oh! and yes I will have a large french fry pizza all to myself. YUP!! you heard right. FRENCH FRY PIZZA!!! Thank you Italy for another amazing creation. Thank you for an amazing experience.
